Hey UIS!
My name is Sarah Quigley and I'm a sophomore cap scholar.I am an English major and I live in Lincoln Residence Hall on 2 West, the Service Learning Wing (yay for volunteering!) I'm rooming with my friends Tabatha, Katie and Priyanka. Yeah... we made South Park charecters for ourselves.
I'm very involved on campus, there are so many opportunities available, as a student it's kind of hard not to be active. I am currently involved in Peer Mentoring, band, Blue Crew, UIS Blue Book (kind of like a year book committee), I am president of Blue Rhapsody A Cappella, vice president of the French Club and Member at Large on the Housing Residents Council.

Just some random stuff I like to do: Anything with music! Specifically singing or playing piano. I love volleyball and softball, I'm pretty hardcore about sports, I'm hoping to coach as well as teach after I graduate. I like stickers, bubbles, jello, taking walks at 2am and ummm... I think that's pretty much it. I'm so excited to be back on campus! I love my friends here and just life in general whenever I'm in Springfield. When I'm not in Springfield I am in my home
town, New Athens IL (actually its a village). This summer I took some classes nearby and worked three jobs, one of my favorites was to come up and work as an orientation leader here at UIS. I got to meet a lot of the new freshmen and give a bit of advice I wish I had gotten last year. The best part of my summer though was my trip to Argentina! I went to Buenos Aires and stayed with a friend who went to my high school for foreign exchange and it was the experience of a lifetime.
You would not believe the reactions I got when I told people I was not only from the U.S, but from Springfield, The Home of The Simpsons! They are OBSESSED with the Simpsons, its insane. During my stay I saw a lot of tragic things as well as beautiful, I couldn't understand the language, but that made it all the more interesting trying to communicate. I can't wait to travel more, I'll be going to Quebec this summer and hopefully France as well. There are so many places I want to go, I've lost track, but I'm working on it!
