Same Show - New Faces!

Hey there!
When my alarm clock hit 8:00 this morning, another year at UIS was underway! And it couldn't have been a better day! Normally this time in August it's so hot that you could fry an egg on the quad walkways (don't do that). But I'm not going to complain. It was at least hot enough to have The Fountain Runners take a dash through our Colonnade.

When I first found out I was going to be a UIS Blogger I thought, "What am I going to write about? I'm not that interesting." While the verdict on that's still out, I'm going to show you all what us grad students do for fun around here on campus and in Springfield.

Your UIS Blogger Crew (minus me)

I figure between the 8 of us, you're going to find something fun to read! If not, that's what the comments are for! If you have any ideas of what for me to write about, let me know! It's a brand new year, and nothing says "Fresh Start" like:

ICE CREAM!

I love this place! Free Pens and Ice Cream! Where else are you going to get that! Nothing to get your brain working like good old vanilla ice cream! At this point, my Free Pen Count is up to 7. After working out at the Gym at Student Life, we saw the Student Involvement Expo taking place. It was really great to see all the different groups on campus reaching out to the students. The best part? Of course you already know:

Free Pens!

They did have snow cones - and a random wizard - and you know the party starts when you see a random wizard!
CTL's Dumbledore

So, that's one day of classes in the books... I got this first blog out of the way - so from here on out I'm going to have some fun finding new things to talk about!

Just because it was a great day outside, I'll close up with a picture of the Colonnade.

I don't see any Fountain Runners yet...

One thing I'm going to try to do is find funny video clips to amuse you during your free time (so that means if you're in class or at work TURN THE VOLUME DOWN!). The first clip is one of my favorite moments from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Jump on it!

Your blog is awesome, I totally agree with the art, the facebook and the Cardinals thing! Oh, and I am currently investigating the true identity of that wizard, if you know who he is, let me know, ha ha ha, I got a picture with him and it's pretty ball'in.
