The nearest international airports to Springfield are Lambert - St. Louis Intl Airport (STL) at St. Louis, MO (about 107 miles) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) at Chicago, IL (about 203.3 miles). These are not your destinations. Your destination airport is Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport at Springfield, Illinois. It would be very difficult for us to pick you up from St.Louis Or Chicago for obvious reasons. However, on request the Office of International Student Services will pick you up from Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport(SPI), Amtrak and Greyhound, in Springfield, Illinois.
You MUST inform the Office of International Students if you plan on coming to UIS. You must let them know what date you are coming. If you need a ride to campus, they will need: date/time, flight number etc. And they will need one week notice to arrange a ride for you.

The Office of International Student Services shall receive you and take you to your temporary accommodation (if you have requested for one in your pick-up request form). You will be temporarily accommodated at the homes of other Indian students (an old tried and tested formula).
Note: Please make sure that you inform the Office Of International Student Services about your arrival well in advance. This is mandatory.
