Introduction

Welcome to the Indian Students Organization (ISO) at the University of Illinois at Springfield. In addition to outlining the functions and composition of the ISO, this web site contains information relevant to the Indian community associated with the University.

The Indian Students Organization (ISO) is a non-profit socio-cultural association within the Student Clubs and Organizations at the University of Illinois at Springfield. The purpose of the ISO is to provide an opportunity for all students of Indian origin to interact and share the joy of the culture and heritage of India, and to educate other students, by bringing awareness.

For incoming students, these pages address frequently asked questions. These pages include information about preparatory travel arrangements, housing facilities, student finances and getting familiar with Springfield. This should prepare you well with what to expect as a student at the UIS.

We encourage you to browse through the information in these pages and send us your comments. Please contact us for any further inquiries or assistance.

Welcome Spring 2008 Students

Important Information:

You MUST inform the Office of International Student Services if you plan on coming to UIS. You must let them know what date you are coming. If you need a ride to campus, they will need: date/time, flight number etc. And they will need one week notice to arrange a ride for you. They are able to only provide rides from Springfield Capitol Airport ( SPI ), Amtrak Station or Greyhound Bus Terminal. Please do not ask for a ride from Chicago or St Louis.

You MUST be here no later than January 7th, 2008, so that you can attend the Mandatory orientation which starts on the morning of January 8th. You will not be allowed to enroll in any classes until you attend orientation and take care of immunizations.

Note: Please do realize that we cannot accommodate any new student in Campus Housing until you have a housing contract. Hence make sure you reach campus after January 4th
