The University of Illlinois at Springfield College Democrats
organization is committed to protecting the privacy and anonymity of
visitors to out site. To that end, we have initiated the following policy
guidelines for the site concerning gathering and use of personal information.

Cookies
The University of Illlinois at Springfield College Democrats does not
use cookies in any part of the site. "Cookies" are small computer
files saved to a visitor's system for use on subsequent visits to enhance
the user experience or track user behavior. They often include user
preferences, password information for automatic login, or identifiers
to track when a user returns to a site. The University of Illlinois
at Springfield College Democrats respect the integrity of the user's
system and personal information and therefore does not employ cookies
anywhere on this site.
Server Logs
The University of Illlinois at Springfield College Democrats use only
aggregate site traffic data to assess usage and optimize performance.
Statistics are occassionally compiled from server log files. These logs
are then periodically deleted. Individual user sessions and/or IP addresses
are not used nor stored.
Email Addresses and Personal Information
The University of Illlinois at Springfield College Democrats use opt-in
email only. Email addresses are requested of users who would like to
receive updates on the organization via email. These addresses are not
shared with any other party.
As an added privacy measure, in order to sign up to receive email updates,
users must complete a two-step process. After submitting their email
address, users will receive instructions on how to confirm their intent
to get emails from the organization. Users who do not fully complete
this two-step process will not receive emails from the organization.
Additional information is required to join for the organization via
the web site. If you are uncomfortable submitting this information online,
we would still like to get you involved. Please contact the group president
to ask about joining.
Children should consult a parent or guardian prior to submitting any
information, including email addresses, to the forms on the site.
Contributions
Certain personal information is required by law to be collected when
accepting a donation to a political campaign or organization. Name and
billing address (and credit card number) are required to properly process
a contribution online. In addition, the organization requires an email
address in order to a) provide an emailed confirmation of the transaction,
and b) to more quickly contact the donor in case of an error with the
contribution. The law requires that all donors contributing more than
$100 in a calendar year must additionally provide their occupation and
employer. The University of Illlinois at Springfield College Democrats
organization is required by law to provide contribution information
to the appropriate regulating bodies. If you have additional questions

Only individuals who are legally able to give political donations are
allowed to use the contribution features on our website.
