Don't be MIA

Lot's of exciting stuff going on this week. If you missed it, the TRAC opened yesterday, and UIS women's Volleyball played (and won) the historic first match in the new gym. The soccer team plays tonight as well, and when the game ends, I would suggest venturing to the LRH Great Room for an interesting program entitled "True Colors." This program will give you an opportunity to learn what color you are. What does this mean? Well, it has a lot to do with your communication style and how you interact with people, but if you want to know more, you're just going to have to show up. And if that isn't incentive enough, I'll be there :). Also, Thursday night at 6:30, you should try and find your way to Conference Room G in the PAC for the first Colleges Against Cancer meeting of the semester. After two consecutive Relays for Life, we strive to make this year's Relay the best ever. That's not a cliche, that's a promise. And if that isn't incentive enough, there will be free food, and I'll be there! Even if you can't make it to all of the sweet events going on this week, make sure you check out the TRAC. It is a tremendous upgrade over the previous Rec Center, and if nothing else, there is a pretty good shot that you will see me there!

Are you ready?

The weather has been pretty awesome so far this year, and I hope everyone has taken advantage of this by going outside and enjoying it. There has been a volleyball game going on just about every night recently, and this has led to an explosion in intramural participants. Between the Sunday and Monday night leagues, there are approximately 22 teams registered to compete, starting tonight around 7:15. Those of you who are wondering, I will bring my acrobatic act (translation, I dive in the sand alot) to the Monday night league. For us casual athletes, IM sports gives us a chance to relive our athletic glory days of the past, or just get together with some friends and have fun. Either way, we at the Rec are planning even more IM sports this year than ever before, so no matter what sport you enjoy, there should be something to tickle your fancy. So get out and play!
