My First Post =D

So this is my first post... Its only been a month, and already so much has happened here at UIS. I dont even know where to start, but I'll try to pick up as much as I can remember. I was here at school for two weeks before classes started for RA training, and those two weeks were agonizingly slow... But the week that everyone moved in was CRAZY. It flew by so fast, I dont remember where one day started and another one picked up, inbetween the 4 or 5 hour naps I managed to get =D
But it was a blast. The freshman who moved in are so awesome; all of them are super involved and love to come out and enjoy themselves.

Well, first week was great and all, but I was kind of relieved when classes finnally began - it would give me an excuse to just sit in a classroom and relax. Speaking of classes, I really enjoy my new classes so far. "What is good?", the third semester of the Capital Scholars humaities curriculum, is going to be great. The books we are reading have been challenging for me, and I know that I'm going to walk out of this class with a better understanding of my beliefs and why I believe them. Oral Communications, or Oral Comm, is going to be ok. The professors are really energetic and seem ready to help us develop our speaking skills, but honestly, how spectacular can any speech class be? Biology and Chemistry of the Environment, or BioChem, is . . . well . . . boring. Seriously; I love the professors, the are awesome guys and they care about us, but I am tired of science. But, regardless, I love my Spanish class. Im in my final semester of Spanish that I need to be done with my foreign language requirement, and it is hard. When I say hard, I don't mean impossible, but difficult. Its going to take a lot of concentration and effort to get a good grade in that course, but Im excited about it. Since coming to college, I've definetly learned more spanish in two semesters than in my four years of high school (I took it each year). I really hope to be fluent by the time I leave school, and I think thats possible - If I stay focused.

Beyond classes and people, UIS and Springfield are still as awesome as they were last year. Having all my friends back in the dorm is great, especially when we do stupid crap like jump thru running fire hydrants, or go to town and buy a pizza oven on a Friday night at 3 am, just because we want a pizza. I have lots of other stories too, and I'd love to tell them to you - email me or msg me and I'll fill you in =D
