guys i forgot to tell you my friend sam stuck in the drawer right underneath the locked one and he pulled out a bag that isnt mine so he called it and the guy answered whoms bag it was and sam goes...guy dude we found ur addias ..it says pre day door....hahahha me and my suitemate randi and matt derbs. started cracking up. the bag said predator. hahahah sam sam sam...ur such a goof! :)

i have one for the books guys...so today i was cleaning my room but because since thanksgiving break our room has gotten to look really bad..so i was picking up my stuff. And one night i had been too lazy to lock my own room door and liza had been in bed already so when our last friend left i gave him our room key and told him to lock the door and slide the key under the door.it seemed like a genius idea at the time and it was until i didnt pu tthis key back on and today when i was cleaning i stuck the key chain that i forgot had that key on there. then i found the lock on the floor and i locked it. about ten minutes after locking it i realized exactly what i had done. I was pissed. I told my ra and he gave me some suggestions. then some of my really good friends tim and sam came over and tried to open my drawer. They had seen something on tv and they tried to freeze the lock and then break it off but it didnt go as well as they had hoped. also earlier in the day tim took a hanger and pulled the keys out in like five seconds but he couldnt completely pull them out since the hole wasnt big enough. Darn it! Ill keep you guys posted!..hahahaha

have you guys ever heard the phrase "it is what you make it?" well in springfield it is so true. You pretty much make your own fun. My roomie and i have found that drives at night are amazing not only do we jam out but we also talk about things which we cant discuss in our own room at times. the car is like a neutral talking ground....anything can be brought up. anyway we usually drive to a grocery store names schnucks thats always open..aka 24 hours... when we go we usually see between 2-3 different cops there. while on shift might i add arent they supposed to be patroling the streets...anyway....they have anything and pretty much anything. We have also found that our labtops have cameras and we take pictures with them as well...for example one night we couldnt find anything to do so we had a photoshoot in our room. it went pretty well....ive got to admit we did get pretty in to it.... and that was one night full of fun and there have been many more full of fun no more photoshoots thought....ill let you guys know if there is. Enjoy these photos im posting!

its not what you think...
So people talk up going away to school, but they never give any of the negatives of going away... first of all as soon as you get to school you notice you have to do things for yourself that you didnt even notice before even got done. Such as if you were anything like me i hadnt done a load of laundry till i got down here. well things changed when i did....i was fine though and so were my clothes....sorting clothes is overrated though...who says you do....you'll be fine. On to the next one- what happens when you get sick at home? you go to the doctor and you get better...well, when your at school you have to make your own appointment and go get your own medication and hope it works. Not my case the last 4 times ive got to the doctor while ive been at school. Also alittle fyi you should definitely have common meds in your dorm room...aka cough syrup, tylenol, bandaids, neosporin....ect, ect. they'll come in handy. thirdly when you go away thats when you notice how much you parents do for you that you take forgranted. its the little things you notcie when your here and they are at home.

Recap of the last two weeks….

Lets just say they have been very eventful…..first of all I have been sick for the past month and a half, so one day I decided to make tea for myself and I also thought I would taste better with honey so as I was being a chef on my desk…right next to my labtop….lets just say it didn’t turn out so well…..and I haven’t been able to drink tea since then. Luckily, it was fixed…and I finally have it back.

On to something different so we were having room inspections this week right before thanksgiving break. It’s their way of making sure that people clean their rooms before going home. If you have friends come see you at school….they tend to think that the dorms look more like a hotel then dorms. They are much better than typical dorms. Hands down. But they also do stuff such as the above that make you think that its more of living at home since they do cleaning inspections in your room, overall its more like highschool here. Since this is a smaller school, your professors know you by name which can be both good and bad but I remember when I was in high school they would say that if you didn’t turn something in or if you didn’t want to go to class the professor wouldn’t care but they do here. They let you turn stuff in if you don’t and if you miss class three times you get dropped from class. But then again why would you miss class more than once in a semester and expect it to be considered as excused. ahhaha

road trip

Friday of this past week, my suitemate randi, my roomie Liza and i went to visit her sister in Eastern...enough said right...hahha jk first of all let me tell you that i love my roomie but her driving is usually really scarey, but fun. It's not driving im used to but its growing on me. anyway, i had a paper due and i usually freak out so i sat in the back and my suitemate randi sat next to liza...which was a good move on my part since she freaked out and not me. Back to the story when driving we didnt get on the highway when we needed to so we had to find an alternate way which to say the least was interesting, then once finally on our way there we were fine. Uis is so different than other bigger university and you dont realize it until you attend UIS and then visit a friend at a bigger campus. You'll be shocked and amazed but be glad to be here. Some people that we talked to at eastern said they have to leave their room 20- 25 minutes before class, this seems crazy to me since i leave 2-3 minutes before class and make it there no matter which building it is in. Anyway, we visited her sister ate at a cool restaurant called el rancherito and it was amazing...ive got to say that spending time with her sister was kool but my favorite part was the drive there.
