These are a few of my favorite things!

Not much going on today, but I do have some random observations about UIS that makes me appreciate it more!
- Ever seen a dirty table at the cafeteria? I can only think of a handful...
- I love the fact that cafeteria workers know you well enough to say "What would you like, Brad?"
- The new quad is amazing. When I started here in 2002, the land to the east of LRH was a gigantic grassy knoll with a small parking lot. It was mainly used for football pickup games and hitting golf balls... Ok, maybe that wasn't sooo bad afterall.
- Online classes. I love being able to do work at my leisure. As in 11:50pm when the assignment is due at midnight.
- The people you meet! There are so many amazing people at UIS, a lot of the future of America is starting right here. Business people, historians, (crooked) politicians, social workers, lawyers, and doctors, all of which I will be proud to say I know (except for all of these crazy liberals!). :)

So I'm looking through the UIS website. trying to figure out how we can make it better. ya know that little group we are in together brad. friends. working together to make uis that much stronger. well. i stumble across a link that says, "meet the bloggers." oh how exciting. i think to myself. my friend stu wants me to start a blog maybe ill do that. i open it up. i see barb on there. so i think ya know i've had a bad day. i should just sit back and relax and read some blogs. so i do. and then i see brad j. ward has a blog. excellent. brad is good with this kind of stuff. he will have pictures and crazy (sober) stories. so i open brad's up. aww fun stuff. look there's shelly. excellent.
wow. stop. then i read this...

brad. brad. brad. you gotta remember. the crazy liberals aren't even crazy liberals. a lot of them (myself included) are active idealists...often deemed progressives in the modern political stage. and they are fabulous. and you will be proud to have known me. cuz as much as we may or may not agree on things...you love liberals and you know it. so smile...and love all the loud-mouthed activists on campus like me. even tho you may or may not be an evil-capitalistic-republican (jokes) and i may or may not be a conspiracy-oriented-loud-mouthed-liberal...we both are doing (and have done) some great things here at uis. so just remember...crazy liberals -->progressives are your friends!
