April 2007
Dear Northend Ward 4 Voters,
I wanted
to thank the voters who have supported my son, Frank Lesko,
for Alderman, and those who have been willing to listen to his message for
change in Ward 4. My family and I
have lived on the Northend,
primarily in what is known as Ward
4, now for generations, and I
have watched my son Frank, take an
active interest in the betterment of our neighborhood his entire
adult life. He will be an avid spokesperson for your families on the
City Council.
I feel fortunate to be from an area where my
family has always had the support of their neighbors. I was born in this area in 1920, one of 14
kids, and was very young when Dad was killed in the mines. I had a large extended family of helpful
neighbors. The only time that I was away
was when I served during WWII. I knew
that I wanted to return to raise my future family here with the same support
system that I had growing up. I became a
Union Iron Worker, married my wife, Shirley in 1947,
and we raised four children who either still live in Ward 4 or have a business
in this community. Unfortunately, we
lost Shirley two years ago, but I feel lucky for my 2 sons, 2 daughters,
grandkids and wonderful neighbors. My
son, Frank, his wife, Kim, and 3 kids are also my neighbors and have helped in
so many ways: meals, companionship, and help in the large garden.
I know that Frank will tend to your needs with
the same thoughtfulness that he has shown to his own family, friends and
Church. He will do this without raising
the city tax burden on our families.
Please, vote for Frank on Tuesday, April, 17th.
Thanks
again, and I look forward to seeing many of you during tomato season!!
Sincerely,
John M.
